Mission Statement

T.R.A.N.S. is a cutting edge Consulting, Corporate Training and Community Advocacy firm located in the heart of K'jipuktuk (downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia). T.R.A.N.S. is a well-connected grassroots organization that specializes in providing comprehensive assistance to clients facing human resource, managerial and policy challenges. Our firm offers valuable consultations and education on a wide range of 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion matters, ensuring that our clients receive the guidance and support they need to navigate delicate situations and changing social climates effectively. We work with a network of care of likeminded organizations to ensure we provide comprehensive services that encompass a compassionate, intersectional, harm reduction lens.  We also offer free resources and services for 2SLGBTQI+ Nova Scotians.

DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion & accessibility) is a vital field of work and of growing importance for many business owners, service providers and government agencies alike. Creating inclusive spaces, especially those inclusive of 2SLGBTQIA+ people, is often daunting and requires expertise to be wholly inclusive. Many businesses and government service providers are seeking expert opinions to bring their human resources practices, company policies and procedures, events and corporate culture into the modern era

As an industry expert who spent years on the front lines of the public and private sectors pushing changes from behind the scenes, our Founder started this business from the perspective of being able to offer an authentic relationship and a safe space for clients to approach difficult conversations without fear of judgment. What sets us apart is our largely human focused service delivery, and our commitment to collective liberation and fostering unity.
By bridging gaps for businesses and service providers, we aim to foster multi-generational inclusion.

We recently co-authored two research briefs in partnership with Transition House Association of Nova Scotia (THANS)

Mica B. Daurie (she/her)
Founder, CEO & Lead Consultant

Mica Daurie is a 2SLGBTQIA+ community advocate and thought leader with years of experience in spaces like government public service, legal and legislative services, corporate services, event planning, and a wealth of government and community DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion & accessibility) work.

Her work is approached from her lived experience as a queer transgender woman raised here in K'jipuktuk, and her services are offered in a manner that is accessible, inclusive, restorative, decolonized, and culturally competent. Mica has training in Gender Based Analysis+, Restorative Practices, Trauma Informed Care, French language at Université Sainte-Anne and more.

Mica serves on the Board of Executives for the Local Council of Women Halifax, and has several ties to community organizations and government bodies here in K'jipuktuk. She approached the idea of opening her own business after a difficult few years of watching misinformation, demonization and near constant discrimination against the 2STGNC+ (2-spirit, trans, gender non-conforming) community run rampant both at home and across the country.
